What Affects the Cost of a London Move?

No two moves are exactly the same. Here's what we consider when pricing your move.

Property Size & Volume of Belongings

This is the biggest factor. A studio flat needs a small van and 2 hours. A 4-bed house with a garage clearance might need a Luton van and a full day. Always be honest about volume — it affects the vehicle size, crew number, and time required.

Distance of the Move

Local moves (same borough or adjacent) cost less because the team can return quickly. Cross-London moves take the crew off the road for longer. Moves leaving London entirely (to another city) have additional travel time and fuel costs.

Access & Parking

If your van can park directly outside, that's ideal. If you're on a pedestrianised street, a restricted parking zone, or a road with double yellow lines, we need to plan ahead. This is where council permits come in — we handle those for free.

Stairs, Lifts & Distance to Van

Ground floor with direct access is easiest. Top-floor flat with no lift and a long walk to the van adds time. We don't charge extra for stairs, but they affect how long the job takes.

Time of Year & Day of the Week

Summer weekends are the busiest and most in-demand. Midweek and off-season moves can sometimes work out better for availability. If your date is flexible, you'll get your pick of slots.

Packing — DIY vs Professional

If you pack everything yourself in proper boxes with correct labelling, the team can load faster. Professional packing removes the stress but adds to the cost. We offer both options.
